About This Tool
The Fiberglass Layup Calculator helps you estimate the materials, weight, and cost for your fiberglass construction project. By defining your layup schedule and parameters, you can get a detailed analysis of your project's requirements.

Key Concepts:

Fabric Types: CSM provides good resin bonding, woven roving adds strength, biaxial cloth offers excellent strength-to-weight ratio. Each has different resin requirements and costs.
Resin Ratios: Different fabrics absorb different amounts of resin. CSM needs 3:1 resin-to-fabric ratio, while tight weaves like carbon fiber need only 1.1:1.
Layup Sequence: Typical sequence: gelcoat, CSM, structural fabrics (woven roving, biaxial), finish with CSM or light cloth for smooth interior surface.
